Happy New Year | Time to Make Things Happen!

So it’s 2013 which marks a few points of interest for me. I’m entering my 3rd year of bodybuilding style training; I’ll attempt to get more ripped than I’ve ever been in order to get on stage in a British show; and I’ll make positive strides to achieve a number of personal goals I’ve set myself both in terms of training and my working life.

The whole idea behind me starting this blog was not to profess that I’m some sort of genius when it comes to nutrition and fitness, but to catalogue and record my progressions as well as share my trials and errors. The hope is that I can look back and see progress whilst possibly helping others to train more efficiently and make progress also.

One thing that’s really hit home since I started this blog is that there’s still an unfathomable amount to learn when it comes to bodybuilding. Much of that is based around the science of nutrition and training, but there’s also a very substantial amount that comes with first-hand experience. With that said I hope to gain a lot of experience this year as I follow a strict cutting diet, put together a routine and learn to pose. I anticipate the highs that come with getting shredded and looking great along with the lows that come with being hungry or tired or both.

After having a good long think about the competition year and the way the dates line up with fitness events, I basically decided it would be a good idea to pick an earlier show date so that I can try and make the most of being in shape, as well as potentially getting some sun this summer. I think I mentioned that I’d be competing in an NPA show which is one of the bodies here in the UK. Living in the Yorkshire area, I attended last year’s show and so it makes perfect sense for me to do that one as I’m familiar with the venue and the way the show is ran there. I’m expecting the dates to be published in the next week or so but if it falls on the same weekend as last year’s show, that would make me 21 weeks from competition which means IT’S CUTTING TIME!

Here’s a recent picture of my current conditioning which I hope will translate to a good physique worthy of the novice stage. Make sure you follow my Instagram page to get regular updates on what I’m doing with my diet as well as progress updates on my physical changes!
